An optionally available compression test set, comprising both brass and aluminium compression test specimens.
Four electrical resistance strain gauges are attached to the surface of the rectangular cross section test specimens. Integral leads are attached to the strain gauges, which are coloured to match the HSM18 sockets to make connection quick and easy.
A 40 : 1 metal lever rests on a fulcrum, and with the weights and hanger of the HSM18, allows the compressive load to be applied.
