The optional temperature indicator consists of a multi way type K digital temperature indicator with 8 rod type K thermocouples. These replace the 7 red spirit thermometers supplied with the standard R634 unit. The digital temperature indicator fits in place of the blank indicator panel in the centre of the unit.
The addition of the digital temperature indicator not only increases the resolution of temperature measurements from 0.5°C to 0.1°C but a thermocouple sensor is provided to record the temperatures of the liquid in the base of the condenser chamber. The additional temperatures allow a complete vapour compression cycle diagram to be produced on a refrigerant SES36 pressure–enthalpy diagram.
